Samurai are such fun characters to write — they’re like real-world superheroes from a bygone era.

So for our ONI Operator Pack trailer, my writing team channeled our inner Kurosawas to deliver a haunting, Bushido-inspired tone poem — and Call of Duty had an instant hit.

Where most Call of Duty trailers rely on frenetic action and snappy combat sequences, with Oni we felt a certain STILLNESS suited him best. He seems larger and more omnipotent — no wasted movement.

Voiced beautifully by Daisuke Tsuji (the GHOST OF TSUSHIMA) — the ONI Operator Trailer is a standout of stoic, lethal elegance.
